Student Scholarship
Awards, Scholarships and Prizes
We are thrilled to introduce the Illustration Scholarship, a program designed to support and recognize our local talented student illustrators. At our Coachella Valley districts, we believe in the power of art and aim to empower aspiring artists to pursue their passion. This scholarship provides financial assistance, educational opportunities, recognition, and mentorship to nurture creativity and artistic growth. A percentage of book sales will go toward the Illustration scholarship.

About
My name is Charlie Ervin, I have lived in Palm Springs for over 40 years. I was a student in PSUSD from K-12, which I later went on to start a business in the Coachella Valley. Currently, I serve on the Board of Education for Palm Springs Unified School District, LCAP Ambassador and am the President of the African-American Parent Advisory Counsel. Furthermore, I formally served on the City of Palm Springs Planning Commission. Representation and having a variety of literacy options is so important in education. My goal is to bridge this gap one story at a time and make a positive impact on youth.
